This dramatic Bone Chandelier by Silvio Rech and Lesley Carstens mixes animal bones with chrome for a sophisticated take on African chic.
Tock Tock Clock by Gregor Jenkin is a sleek modern version of a grandfather clock, I particularly love the use of Michele Mathison's pewter ceramic birds referencing a cuckoo clock!
Gerhard Swart and Anthony Harris for Ceramic Matters created this eery tablescape, "Place Setting...a Spirit Votive". Using white earthenware, they have taken ceramic art to new heights.

Trevyn McGowan curated Southern Guild to showcase the best of local contempoary design at the Jhb Art Fair. Here are a few of my favourite pieces.

Clive Rundle caused a stir at Sanlam SA Fashion Week with these amazing creations showcased with a soundtrack by David Attenborough from his BBC series on mammals, and ending with a chant by the Dalai Lama. These garments played with silhouette and scale, and the extraordinary hairpieces were created by uber-hairstylist Saadique to carry the mammalian theme through the the collection. Hazel Buchan made a black feathered mask from La Perla out of white paper, it looks so realistic!
Hazel even cut the title of the editorial out of paper to carry the theme through.
Black Coffee dress and shrug in white paper on the cover of Wanted. I worked with paper sculptor Hazel Buchan to interpret fashion as art to tie up with the Joburg Contemporary Art Fair which is on this weekend.
